DeLorme to Introduce Super-fast New Earthmate PN-40 Handheld
DeLorme, the Yarmouth, Maine-based maker of digital and paper maps and GPS navigators, has announced the introduction of a super-fast new handheld GPS, the Earthmate PN-40, into its line for fall 2008 release. The calling card of the PN-40 will be speed in the processing and display of data.
DeLorme promises "near-instantaneous" satellite signal acquisition, thanks to a new, high-sensitivity STMicroelectronics Cartesio 32-channel chipset. Speeding up the data processing and display, even when working with memory-intensive aerial photos, will be a dual core processor matched with one gigabyte of memory.
