Google today announced a new Nexus 4 "Google phone" made by LG, and two new Nexus tablets with seven and 10-inch screens. All models of these devices have built-in GPS chips, taking a different tack, compared to Apple, which does not put GPS chips in its WiFi-only tablet models. The Nexus 4 phone can be purchased without a contract for just $299, making it a price leader in unlocked smartphones. A new Nexus 10 tablet, built by Samsung, is to sell for $399, and has impressive hardware specs and a bright, high-resolution (2,560 x 1600, 300ppi), touchscreen. The Nexus 7 tablet ($199) is an update to an existing model. Image © Google
