TomTom Improves Its iPhone App in New Update

Navigation company TomTom offers one of my top picks for iPhone GPS navigation apps, and the company just released an update (to version 1.12) of its TomTom USA app. This app ($49.99), offers free lifetime map updates, HD Traffic (one of the best traffic detection & avoidance functions out there), multitasking support, spoken street name turn-by-turn directions, and good integration with other apps, such as Contacts, Calendar, and Maps. New in version 1.12 includes optimization for iPhone 5's larger display, TomTom Places search, and routing directly from Apple's Maps app (just select TomTom as the routing app after you find your destination).
