Magellan has just introduced a new eXplorist 350H handheld GPS ($229, to be released in the second quarter of this year) just for hunters. The new 350H is rugged and waterproof, like the rest of the eXplorist family, but has a number of hunting-specific features. These include a camouflage finish, and "pre-loaded detailed base maps with Game Management Units (GMU), Digital Globe satellite imagery for virtual scouting ability, hunting specific waypoints, hunting geofences, and trail camera waypoint marking," states Magellan. The preloaded basemap includes GMU boundaries for all of the states, except Hawaii. One-button waypoint markers are provided for hunting-specific waypoints, including tracks, rub marks, water, game cameras, and food sources. Image © Magellan
