Definition: Bluetooth is the name of a wireless specification that permits consumer electronics devices to exchange information over short distances. For example, Bluetooth-capable mobile phones may be linked to compatible GPS in-car receivers via Bluetooth wireless signals. This enables hands-free calling. Bluetooth may also be used to transmit real-time traffic data from a special receiver or from a mobile phone to an in-car GPS.
