Navigon recently announced the new 7200T model, to be available in October, 2008. It's a high-end ($449 suggested retail) car GPS with a passel of features that caught my eye. The Navigon 7200T's new "landmark 3D view" adds 3D renderings of landmarks across the U.S. into its navigation database (see accompanying image). I'm not sure they'll help you navigate, but they're cool to look at. Navigon states there are "hundreds" of 3D renderings in the database, so you know the Empire State Building will be there, but don't count on seeing anything located in Kickapoo, Illinois.

Also of note is the inclusion of Navigon's "free real-time traffic updates for life" deal. Your 7200T comes complete with traffic tracking and avoidance capability via a built-in FM receiver, right out of the box. You'll never pay a traffic info subscription fee. Also on board the 7200T are: voice address entry, realistic view of road signs at most highway interchanges, visual lane guidance, hands-free Bluetooth mobile phone capability, text-to-speech directions, and Zagat ratings and reviews of restaurants, hotels, and more. Watch for an in-depth review here.
