Goodbye Guy Colors: Garmin Introduces Pink Nuvi In-car GPS

Thursday May 22, 2008

Makers of in-car GPS receivers seem stuck on "guy" colors, such as black, metallic silver, and gray for their products. Garmin has taken one of its models out of the dull color routine with the introduction of the Pink Nuvi 200. Its pearl pink finish really stands out and makes a statement. It's one of Oprah's "what's hot this summer" picks.

The Pink Nuvi 200 is a basic navigator – it has a 3.5-inch diagonal screen (rather than the larger 4.3-inch format), and doesn't have text-to-speech directions – but it will get you where you need to go at a reasonable cost (about $213), and it's plenty slim and small enough to easily fit in a small purse to take along with you. The Pink Nuvi is being sold exclusively at Best Buy (stores and online) for now.
