RunKeeper Heart RateRunKeeper offers what is likely the most popular smartphone app for runners, and the company has just introduced the addition of heart rate monitor capability. RunKeeper is partnering with Wahoo Fitness to integrate its wireless ANT+ Fisica receiver (shown in photo) and Garmin heart rate monitor for iPhone. You may add wireless heart rate monitoring to Android operating system smartphones, also, using the Polar WearLink heart rate monitor, which transmits a Bluetooth signal to your phone. Either option gives you a lightweight, accurate way to add heart rate to the many stats you may view in real time, and store and display in RunKeeper's online utility. For iPhone, you may buy the Fisica sensor separately ($79) or together with the Garmin heart rate strap/transmitter ($129). For Android, purchase the Polar Wearlink heart rate strap/transmitter ($79).Image Wahoo Fitness
