Apple Turn-by-Turn App Recommendations to Avoid

With the surprising and disappointing performance of the new Apple Maps app including turn-by-turn navigation (review) as part of Apple's iOS 6 operating system, Apple scrambled to introduce its customers to alternative turn-by-turn GPS navigation apps. These apps were mentioned in Apple CEO Tim Cook's apology letter, and are featured in Apple's App Store. I agree with some of the picks that Apple is choosing to feature, and they align with my popular iPhone navigation apps review. However, there are a few Apple recommendations that I'll steer you away from. With proven performers such as MotionX, Garmin, and Telenav available, I was puzzled by the inclusion of "GPS CoPilot" in Apple's recommendations. Evidently, users agree, with one-star ratings out-numbering all others for this app. Also "WisePilot," and "Bing Reference," which doesn't even include turn-by-turn directions, don't belong on a short list.
