Using the iPad Mini for In-Car GPS Navigation

As soon as the Apple iPad Mini was announced, I wanted to try it as an in-car, GPS turn-by-turn navigation platform. Its screen size and thin profile seemed to make it ideal for in-car use. Fortunately, I found off-the-shelf products to help make this a reality, including an attractive iOttie Easy Grip Universal Dashboard Mount, an aftermarket Bad Elf GPS accessory, and an iPad-friendly navigation app. The entire package looked and worked surprisingly well.
