GPRS

By Fred Zahradnik, About.com

Definition: General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) is a mobile data service that provides data transfer at rates ranging from 56 to 114 kilobits per second (Kbps). GPRS data transfer is generally charged per kilobyte of data transfer. GPRS may be used for mobile Internet access and other mobile access services. Its data transfer rate is relatively slow (comparable to a dial-up modem).
